Location: business park in Pétange

In memory of: 40th anniversary of the Liberation

Inauguration: September 8, 1984

The Liberty Fountain was inaugurated on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Liberation of Pétange. It is located on rue Robert Krieps at the entrance to the Pétange business park.

The foundation as well as the base were set up by the Alleva construction company whereas the girders and the chain were delivered by the former MMRA thanks to its then general manager Jean-Baptiste Gillardin. It was the Syndicat d’Initiative who brought up the idea which was inspired by the UPAFIL logo.

The fountain is a reminder of the close cooperation of the three countries (Luxembourg, Belgium, France) during the war.
