(10) THE RAILROAD WORKERS’ MEMORIAL

After the war, railroad workers from Pétange made an appeal for funds to finance a monument honoring their colleagues who resisted the Nazis and who paid the ultimate price. The memorial was created by the artist Weintz from Bascharage and put up in the main entrance hall of the Pétange train station. On March 7, 1954, it is inaugurated by the General Manager of the Luxembourg Railroad Company (CFL).
